Mount Nebo Bible Baptist Church to Hold Dedication of New Sanctuary
05.13.2021

On Sunday, March 28, 2021, Mount Nebo Bible Baptist Church, under the direction of Reverend Charles Duplessis, will hold the day-long Sacred Place Dedication Ceremony for the newly-completed sanctuary at 1720 Flood Street, New Orleans, Louisiana.
“The Premier Foundation has been a blessing and instrumental in raising over $500,000 to complete the construction of Mount Nebo,” says Reverend Duplessis. “Their friendship, commitment and dedication has been unwavering since 2013 when they offered to help rebuild the church and community center.”
In the summer of 2005, Hurricane Katrina forever changed the city of New Orleans, especially in the Lower Ninth Ward, where less than 30 of the 72 churches have been rebuilt in the area. Mount Nebo Bible Baptist Church was completely demolished as what was left of the building rested under 20 feet of water. The Premier Foundation stepped in and helped organize campaigns to raise funds and rebuild what was destroyed.
“Although this road has been long, challenging and faced road block after road block, we felt helping rebuild the church and community center was critical, regardless of how long it would take,” says Gene Krcelic, president of the Premier Foundation. “We were able to help organize the construction effort and fundraising campaigns because of countless corporate and personal donors around the country. At times, it felt there was no end in sight, but constant faith and encouragement has led us to this great day.”
Although the church dedication is set for March 28, there will be a multi-day celebration of the new building later in the year.
